January 2011 - Optimized thermal transmission for peltier modules based on Phase Change Material
A good thermal transmission is always a challenge for life time and cooling performance of Peltier Moduls.
uwetronic GmbH, manufacturer of cooling units based on Peltier technology, now offers prepared Peltier elements with a so called phase change material.
With a special developed tool uwetronic is now able to apply this material with a coating thickness of only 70µm. After mounting and heating the Peltier Element over its phase change temperature, the material is going to be fluid and the surface will be moistened. Afterwards all remaining air pockets will be driven out of micro structures on the surface. An optimal thermal flow can be guaranteed and a maximum performance follows.
Thermal elements with this special material are able to be dismounted easily. That may safe a lot of money on customer side, when changes need to be made.
