Battery Probes

Beschreibung

This pencil-shaped model is part of a series of spring-loaded battery probes that are usually being fixated on circuit boards by squeezing them together at the height of their press-in ring, using a standard clamp. With a necessary force of application of only 0.34 N to overcome its recommended spring travel of 1.27 mm, the UEBK-12401 represents a comparably smooth-running type of spring contacts. Overall, it is designed in such a way that the rated current lies at 5 Ampere. During operation, the generated contact resistance never surpasses a value of 50 mΩ. This low value is made possible by the materials that were used for the production of each component. The contacting plunger entirely consists of a hardened beryllium-copper-alloy, while the cylindrical barrel is made of a special nickel-silver-alloy. All three components are finally covered with a fine layer of gold.

In terms of dimensions, its entire, relaxed height of 9.47 mm divides itself into 2.24 mm of visible contacting plunger height and 7.23 mm of barrel height. The distance from the bottom of that contact probe to the position of the press-in ring adds up to 5,79 mm. Inside the cylindrical barrel, a stainless-steel spring is connected to the moveable plunger. In terms of outer diameter, the 0.86 mm barrel-diameter increases to a maximum of 0.99 mm at the position of the press-in ring. Moreover, the pinhead is spherically rounded at its head-end and has a total diameter of only 0.69 mm. At maximum, the battery probe can be compressed over a length of 1.52 mm, reaching a total height of 7.95 mm, but a common spring deflection of 1.27 mm is advised. Due to this dimensioning, it is recommended to operate the UEBK-12401 on a minimal grid of 1.27 mm.
