Spring loaded contact probe with integrated thermocouple
The Thermocouple Probe is an ungrounded, thermally conductive probe used for the measurement of variations in temperature. This probe is ideal for applications such as thermostat testing, semiconductor testing (burn-in), or any application in which accurate local temperature data is needed. The probe has an extreme high lifetime with more than 300.000 testcycles.
The spring-loaded thermocouple contact pin finds broad use in machinery and plant engineering. It enables automated temperature measurement directly on the component in test stations, test fixtures, and production lines—reliably and precisely. Thanks to its compact design, defined spring force, and integrated thermocouple, it consistently delivers repeatable measurements even under demanding industrial conditions.
A sensitive temperature measurement is indispensable when a direct thermal connection between sensor and object under test is required. Typical application processes:
- End-of-line tests in serial production (functional or thermal loading of components)
- Temperature monitoring of power electronics (IGBTs, MOSFETs, diodes) in operation or during testing
- Contact inspection of heating/cooling components (heating elements, heatsinks, Peltier elements)
- Quality assurance through comparative measurements in manufacturing processes (temperature equalization for sensors)
- Thermal characterization of assemblies/materials (temperature profiles under load)
- Validation of cooling concepts in machinery and plant construction (control housings, switchgear, drive units)
- Test benches/laboratory setups with repeatable, reproducible measurements
The spring-loaded thermocouple contact pin offers particularly in automated workflows a stable mechanism and reliable contact.
