Constant temperature control of electrical cabinets through Peltier cooling aggregates with integrated controllers

The relevant advantages of cooling aggregates using the Peltier technology are especially appreciated in the segment of climate control from electrical cabinets and control panels. The right temperature in an electrical cabinet is an important requirement for the lifecycle of electronic devices and operational safety. Today´s control technology standard is becoming more and more efficient. That directly leads to a higher sensibility of electronic devices with reference to temperature and other external influences. Therefore a stabile temperature distribution inside the electrical cabinet is necessary. It is an essential condition for prevention of blackouts and following costs.

The advantages of aggregates with Peltier technology compared to those using compressors are easy to identify: Especially a very low noise level of the fans as well as a very exact stability of temperature have to be highlighted. Additionally these aggregates work without vibrations and don´t need polluting cooling solvent at all. There is no technical request to the position of the Peltier aggregate on the electrical cabinet because there are no liquids that could leak. Furthermore these aggregates are relatively price competitive compared to other technologies.

The Peltier-aggregate contains of Peltier modules, a powerful heat-sink and high quality fans with relevant airflow capacity. The Peltier module works as a pump that transports energy through a thermic heatflow from one side of the module to the other. One side is called cold-side, the other one is called hot-side. The cooling of the hot-side through heat-dissipation into the environment is an essential factor of success. As cooler the hot-side can be hold as cooler the cold-side can become to realize the required cooling-power. To avoid overheating of the hot-side despite of maximum operating performance a well dosed combination of the output of heat-sink and fan are crucial. Additionally heat-sink and Peltier modules should be bond together with a high quality interface material in between that also supports optimal heat-dissipation.

Especially attractive is a new developed heat-exchanger with integrated controller-unit. This version is very cost effective and user friendly compared to other solutions. That space-saving controller-unit is a combination of a sensor, controller and reverser. Therefore sourcing and integration of those components are not necessary any more.
